Aisling Bea
Aisling B a, born 16 March, 1984 in Kildare Ireland. Bea has appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) more popularly known as Aisling Bea, is a popular Irish actor, writer and comedian. Following appearances in bits in a variety of Irish and British television shows since 2009 Bea began her career as a stand-up comic in the year 2011. By 2012 she was regularly appearing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. Following her win during the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to appear regularly on numerous panel shows for which she was a frequent guest. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team between 2016 and 2017 and is an ongoing contestant on its spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was born to Brian and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. She is only the second ever female winner of So You Think You're Funny. Bea is her name in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh'Sullivan' was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide aged three. She did not learn the cause for her father's death until thirteen years later. Bea chose to stage her name Bea to honor her father who passed away. Bea also wrote a 2017 article in The Guardian on her family's suicide experience. Bea as well as her sister Sinead were nurtured by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) who was a secondary school teacher, jockey trainer, and professional jockey for a time. Their parents were both obsessed with racing and horses. In her youth Bea worked as a tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early stage that she was not attracted to the race industry as a career and instead was a performer.
